Casa Curriculum

Over a hundred years of Montessori experience and more recent educational research clearly indicates that children from 2.5 to 6 years old have an unquenchable capacity to absorb and learn from their environment. At the Early Childhood level, our educational program is based on the premise that young children have an innate ability to flourish with gentle guidance and the freedom to work at their own pace.
Each child is presented with a calm, orderly prepared environment that cultivates cognitive, physical, social and emotional needs. The carefully prepared environment is designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years, those times when there is a readiness to learn specific skills.

Our rich classroom environments are full of hundreds of Montessori materials that facilitate the progression from concrete to abstract learning while gaining confidence and independence. They are designed to put children at ease by giving them freedom in a safe place to socialize, grow, and learn.  Children learn from our diverse community and from varied perspectives.  From this they develop friendships on commonality and soon become role models demonstrating confidence, respect, leadership skills and tolerance.

The Casa classrooms provide our children with a greater opportunity to mature their social, ethical, and emotional development with their peers.  This stage is essential in enhancing necessary skills for a happy productive adult life.

The Casa Curriculum consists of many learning areas including:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial
  • Mathematics
  • Language Arts
  • Geography
  • History
